Membership Letter
We have the pleasure of introducing, the Friends of Plasticos auxiliary group which supports the work of Mission Plasticos, an outstanding organization that provides desperately needed reconstructive surgical care to women and children, free of charge, in Orange County and across the globe.
Mission Plasticos has some truly inspiring accomplishments to celebrate…since 1999, the volunteer surgeons have transformed the lives of thousands of women and children and trained hundreds of doctors in underdeveloped countries to help many, many more people in need. In 2016, Mission Plasticos began performing post-mastectomy breast reconstruction surgery on uninsured women in addition to surgical care for children. Clearly, lives and futures have been transformed as a result of our efforts on behalf of these women and children.
The Friends of Plasticos members are wonderful ambassadors, with a mission to Support Mission Plasticos by raising awareness and funds, ensuring the success and longevity of the organization. Meetings are just once per month and there are many ways to participate including:
- Membership Committee
- Program Support Committee
- Event Committee
On September 12, 2020, we will be hosting the Celebration of Global Friendships event at the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach where we will honor some special volunteers, highlight our local and international work and dance the night away. The funds from this important event help Mission Plasticos recruit volunteer medical teams, identify and screen patients, secure supplies, and equipment, travel across the globe and provide surgical training and care to those in need.
